A Non-governmental organization based in the United Kingdom, Time for Good International has aided 35 female students with a Hygiene Pack (FHP) with plans to support the Barekese Methodist Junior High School in area of need.

The pack contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, a pack of washable sanitary pad, and medicated soap.

According to the organisation, the washable sanitary pad were in three folds and can be washed, and dried or ironed after use, it had no side effect and no health implications on the user.

Monthly period among females in their adolescent age is unbearable to parents and wards alike. The NGO has made it a stress free for us and a saving to parents, the students said.

A trusted Member of the Team, Mr Michael Morrison said their (organisation) objective is to make sure organisations are able to stand on its own. They believed changing the story in Ghana’s education would make the nation strong against all odds.

In the company of the NGO to the Barekese Methodist Junior High School, was the Hon. Assembly member for Barekese/ Asenie/ Marban Electoral Area, and Convenor for the Social Services Committee, Mr Ernest Adusie.

According to him, the project was introduced to him through his brother and he requested the (NGO) visited the schools in his community to ascertain what would be their challenge to quality education and they came in with few female Hygiene Pack as entry to the community.

After facility examination, the NGO promised to complete a 3 unit classroom to ease the congestion in the Junior High School class and very accessible.

He was grateful to the NGO’s for honouring his invitation and prayed more such benevolence is expressed by other NGOs or philanthropist.

Mr. Frank Duah Boateng, the District Director of the Education Directorate in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly has called on philanthropists to support and elevate the Education system in the District.

According to him, the Assembly’s strength is not enough to raise the standard of education in the District, it requires all hands on desk.

Mr Boateng, was of the view that, though is mandatory of the Assembly to oversee and regulate development, it also welcome stakeholders who are willing to support in areas needed towards development especially in education. He believed partnership should not be a deficiency to the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Barekese.

He made this call on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the forecourt of the Education Directorate during a disbursement of 120 mattresses, pillows and other valuable items to selected students in 30 communities of the District by Dr. Lawyer Dickson Osei Assibey.

According to him, the beneficiaries of the mattresses were made based on guidelines and hoped it continues. The Education Director tasked the students to make the District and the education sector proud for others to emulate.

In attendance were the Presiding member (PM) for the Assembly, and Assembly man for Achiase Electoral Area, Hon. Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, District Assembly Representative, Nana Efua Fynnba Mensah, District Information Officer, Mr Augustine Agyei, Assembly members, Dr. Lawyer Dickson Osei Assibey a Senior Lecturer at KNUST, and also a Council Chairman of Wa Technical University, Parents, teachers, onlookers, students, and all who matters graced the event.

The District Education Director (DED), cautioned the students to make their studies a key factor in their days at school and aspire for greater things in life.

Parents who spoke to this report expressed unqualified gratitude to the philanthropist and the Education Directorate and District entirely for a relief of some key prospectors in their ward’s education in the Senior High School. They assured of making good use of the item.

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly (ANNDA) in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, 22nd of February, 2023 had team from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) to screened their performances over the year, 2022.

A yearly mandatory exercise which is based on an agreed key performance indicators (KPI) for execution by various directorates, departments/units.

The 2022 performance review had two Officials from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in the person of Mrs. Vivien Akumia, Regional Human Resource Manager – Ashanti, (HRM), and Mr. George Kwakye Andoh, the Chief Local Government Inspector A/R.

After revealing the scores obtained by each participant based on the indicators, Mrs. Vivien, leader of the team congratulated the Assembly for a good work done and urged partakers to correct any anomalies found.

In his remarks, the District Coordinating Director (DCD) of Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly was very grateful to the delegation and staff for how supportive they have been to the Officers from ARCC and asked participants to gear towards more improvement of their services to the District.

Staffs who opined to this report expressed words of gratitude to the District Chief (DCE) Hon. Rebecca Yeboah and the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr. S.M Abdul-Rahman and all other supportive staff whose work and services has given a facelift to the Assembly and pray they continue to work towards the interest of the Country and District at large.

Performance Contract is a signed agreement between a government and a public agency which establishes key performance indicators for the agency, sets targets for measuring performance and provides rewards/ sanctions for achieving those targets.

Purpose

The examination would enable staff and the Service be committed to the achievement of its set objectives coupled with targets in service delivery within a given timeframe.
