DEPARTMENT / UNITS
1. Central Administration
The Central Administration is the secretariat of the District Assembly and is responsible for the provision of support services, effective and efficient general administration and organization of the District Assembly.
2. Human Resource Department
The Human resource department coordinates all human resource programmes and organize staff trainings within the Assembly.
3. Education Department
The development of every nation depends on quality education which cannot be achieved without proper management, monitoring and supervision at all levels in the educational system.
4. Internal Audit Unit
Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value to and improve an organization’s operations.
5. Works Department
The District Works Department is the Infrastructure Supervisory Department of the Assembly. Our main goal is to ensure citizenry are housed in a conducive structure which is safe and Sound.
6. PROCUREMENT Department
The Procurement Unit as a unit under the Central Administration was created in 2012. The Unit is mandated to help the Assembly in adhering to defined rules, methods, processes and procedures.
7. INFORMATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The Information Services Department (ISD) is the principal public relations outfit of Government. Its primary mandate is to disseminate Government policies, programmes and activities as well as assess feedback for policy refinement.
8. NON-FORMAL EDUCATION DIVISION
Non-Formal Education Division(NFED) exists in the district to provide functional literacy to people aged 14 years and above who are illiterates. They include school dropouts or those who never had basic education.
9. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (MIS)
In this 21st century, data is the heart of Decision making for every organization /institution. However, in this era of modernization and a period of digitization, Information Technology plays a pivotal role in our day to day activities.
10. PHYSICAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT
The Physical Planning Department’s mission statement at the national level is to plan, control and ensure the harmonious, sustainable and cost-effective development of human settlements in accordance with sound environmental and planning principles.
11. AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT
The department of Agriculture seeks to improve the livelihood of rural farmers by introducing improved and sustainable farming technologies in Crops and animals.
12. SOCIAL WELFARE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The Department of Social Welfare, a governmental agency under the Ministry of Gender,Children and Social Protection , is set up to work in partnership with people in their communities to improve their social wellbeing.
13. ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
This department is responsible for providing strategic and administrative leadership for the management of policies and programmes relating to Environmental Sanitation.
14. BUDGET unit
Budget unit is responsible for preparing budget and the provision of technical guidance to Management on budgetary matters. The department also keeps proper updates of all financial projects.
15. RECORDS unit
Record is a unit under the central administration. Records plays a pivotal role in the day to day administration of the assembly.
16. PLANNING
Planning unit is the main central point of the district assembly under the central administration with the sole responsibility of facilitation.
