The development of every nation depends on quality education which cannot be achieved without proper management, monitoring and supervision at all levels in the educational system. The district education directorate is mandated to ensure proper management, monitoring and supervision of pre-tertiary educational activities at the district level.
The Atwima Nwabiagya North Education Directorate was created in March 2018, under the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly in the Western part of the Ashanti Region. It consists of about 28 communities and covers an estimated area of about 154.46 sq km.
The District Education Office is currently housed in the District Assembly Annex opposite the Roman Catholic Church at Barekese with GPS code: AH-1937-1794.
Mr Frank Duah Boateng, the District Director, took over from Mr Joseph Kofi Agyemang who exercised oversight responsibility until September, 2019.
